Use Telegram Saved Messages to organize your own reference items

Before you begin

Saved Messages provides a place for notes and forwarded items you want to revisit. Add enough context to a saved item that you can understand it later, particularly when the original conversation covered several different subjects.

Follow these steps

Check the active Telegram account and use conversations you recognize when trying settings. Cloud messages and Secret Chats do not behave the same way in storage. Keep a separate, independently accessible copy of important files.

1. Open Saved Messages in Telegram on the intended account. Check that you are in your own saved space rather than a conversation with another person.
2. Write a note or forward the item you want to keep. Add a short explanation of why it matters instead of leaving an unexplained link or attachment.
3. Use a consistent keyword when saving items for the same project. Search for that keyword later and check that it finds the reference you expected.
4. Review saved files periodically. Keep an independent copy of essential documents and remove outdated notes only after confirming you will not need them again.

Check the result

Saved Messages is convenient reference storage, but it should not be your only way to recover important information. Check attachment availability before travel or offline work, and keep account recovery information outside the account itself.

Synchronization requires a connection and working account access. Do not assume all conversations have end-to-end encryption like Secret Chats. Some additional features may require Premium; use the basic options available to your account.
