Before you begin
Chat folders organize conversations without creating separate accounts. Decide which conversations belong together before setting up a folder so the new view helps you find messages instead of hiding chats you still need to follow.

Follow these steps
Check the active Telegram account and use conversations you recognize when trying settings. Cloud messages and Secret Chats do not behave the same way in storage. Keep a separate, independently accessible copy of important files.
- Open Telegram Settings and find Chat Folders. Review any existing folders before creating another one with a clear name such as Work or Personal.
- Choose the chats or chat types to include. Inspect exclusions as well so an important conversation is not omitted because of a broader filter.
- Save the folder and open it from the chat list. Check that the conversations shown match your intended group before relying on it for daily work.
- Return to the folder settings when a new project or group changes your needs. Review included chats rather than assuming new conversations always fit automatically.
Check the result
Folders change organization, not who can read a message or which account sends it. Keep checking the recipient before sharing documents. If a chat seems missing, look in the full chat list and inspect the folder filters.
Synchronization requires a connection and working account access. Do not assume all conversations have end-to-end encryption like Secret Chats. Some additional features may require Premium; use the basic options available to your account.
