Save places to a Google Maps list for a trip

Before you begin

A place list can keep trip options together without mixing them with unrelated favorites. Give the list a clear purpose and check each saved location, especially businesses with similar names or multiple branches.

Follow these steps

Use the intended Google Maps account and check location permission when you need your current position. Match the place name, address and map marker before saving it or starting a journey; different places can share similar names.

1. Search for a place in Google Maps and open its details. Verify the address and map position before saving a location based only on its name.
2. Choose Save and select or create the intended list. Use a name that explains the trip or task so it is easy to distinguish from other lists.
3. Add other places one at a time and inspect the completed list. Remove duplicates or incorrect branches before using it to plan a route.
4. Review list sharing settings if other people should access it. Check the recipients and visibility rather than assuming a saved list is automatically private or shared.

Check the result

Saving a place does not reserve it or confirm its current opening hours. Check current details close to your visit. If the plan changes, update the list and explain the change to anyone using a shared copy.

Map information and road conditions can change. Check local directions while travelling and configure the app before driving. Some features require internet, and offline-map availability differs between regions.
