Extract a ZIP with Files by Google and check the result
A ZIP groups several files into one archive. Files by Google can extract it, but does not support every archive format. Inspect the extension first so a RAR or another format is not mistaken for a damaged ZIP.

Check a file's name, type and location before choosing an action in Files by Google. Similarly named documents may contain different versions, so inspect a preview when unsure. Avoid selecting everything when you need only one result. For important documents, verify that an accessible copy exists before deleting or moving the only file you currently hold.
Follow these steps
Follow this sequence in the Android app.
- Open Files by Google and navigate to the folder holding the ZIP. Match the archive's name to the download you intended to open, especially when several copies have extra numbers in their names.
- Tap the ZIP to inspect its contents in the popup. Review the file list before choosing Extract so you know which documents will be added to the device's storage.
- Run extraction and inspect the preview of the resulting files. For the first attempt, leave Delete ZIP file unchecked so the original archive remains available while you verify the output.
- Choose Done and open the folder where the original ZIP was stored. Open several extracted files to confirm that the required documents are readable before tidying up the archive itself.
Check the result
If extraction reports full storage, make space or move already-backed-up data before retrying. Extracted contents can be larger than the archive. Files by Google supports ZIP extraction; use a suitable tool for another format rather than merely changing its filename extension.
