Export a clear PDF CV from Canva on Android
A CV should communicate accurate experience and contact details before it attracts attention with design.
Before you begin
A CV should communicate accurate experience and contact details before it attracts attention with design. Prepare the text first, choose a readable layout and check the PDF itself before sending it to an employer.
Follow these steps
Start with a Canva design sized for the intended output. Use a template as an initial layout, then replace its information and images with material you have permission to use. Inspect every page because sample text may be hidden near the bottom.
- Open a CV design in Canva and replace all sample identity and contact information. Review every section so another person’s details are not left in the template.
- Enter your experience and education using consistent dates. Describe the work accurately and keep the most relevant information easy to locate on the page.
- Check font sizes, page breaks and spacing. Avoid shrinking long paragraphs until they are difficult to read; shorten the wording or simplify the layout instead.
- Download the design as a PDF and open the exported file. Check each page, contact detail and filename before attaching it to an application.
Check the result
The design preview does not replace a final PDF review. A readable visual layout also does not guarantee compatibility with every recruitment system. Follow the employer’s requested format and keep a simple text version of your experience.
Not every Canva template or element is included in the free plan. Check Pro labels or charges before downloading. An attractive design still needs a content review; the app does not establish whether dates, contact numbers or work experience you enter are correct.
