Arrange a photo collage in Canva on Android
Choose photos that tell one clear story instead of filling every frame with unrelated images.
Before you begin
Choose photos that tell one clear story instead of filling every frame with unrelated images. A consistent arrangement works best when faces and important objects remain visible after the photos are fitted into the layout.
Follow these steps
Start with a Canva design sized for the intended output. Use a template as an initial layout, then replace its information and images with material you have permission to use. Inspect every page because sample text may be hidden near the bottom.
- Open a Canva collage design or choose a grid for the intended canvas size. Decide how many photos you need before selecting a complicated layout.
- Insert the selected photos into the frames. Reposition each image inside its frame so the crop does not remove faces or the main subject.
- Check spacing and any added text. Keep captions short enough to read and use a background that helps the images remain distinct from each other.
- Export the collage and inspect it at the size people will actually view. Enlarge the saved image to check for an accidental crop or a low-resolution photo.
Check the result
Replacing one photo can change the balance of the whole collage. Review the complete result after each major replacement. Keep the design editable if you expect to change names, dates or the photo selection later.
Not every Canva template or element is included in the free plan. Check Pro labels or charges before downloading. An attractive design still needs a content review; the app does not establish whether dates, contact numbers or work experience you enter are correct.
